Jenny Arwas MBE - Chair

Jenny has been Chair of the Simon Cooper Foundation since its launch in 2016, following several appointments in charities whose aim for those it supports is to realise ambitions for employment and contribution to the arts and society alongside able bodied participants. Jenny is passionate about raising money to help people with life limiting conditions – one of the key aims of the Foundation.

She draws on her experience as a non-executive Director across the charitable sector and professionally at Director level within the FTSE20 with organisations that have frequently undergone transformation and growth. Nigel Kingsley - Treasurer

Nigel has held various corporate finance positions throughout his professional career as a Tax Consultant as well as acting as an adviser to many high net worth individuals and businesses in the sports, leisure and property sectors.

Nigel was a Founding Member of the Association of Taxation Technicians, an integral part of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, until he retired therefrom in 2012.

As well as having known Simon throughout his whole life and also being very close friends with all the Cooper family, Nigel is dedicated to keeping Simon’s legacy alive.
Hence Nigel’s appointment as Treasurer and a Trustee of the Simon Cooper Foundation has enabled him to channel his fundraising activities through the charity in order to assist those with life limiting conditions.

Angela Cooper - Simon’s mum

Angela has worked as a company director for over 25 years. She has also been a volunteer duty manager at Chickenshed Theatre in Southgate for over 20 years. Angela has been a supporter and fundraiser of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust since 1986.

Having looked after Simon throughout his life, attending appointments at a range of hospitals, and spending a huge amount of time at the North London Hospice with Simon, she has seen first hand the value of vital equipment and care given at specialist medical care providers and the difference it can make to treatment and quality of life for patients with life limiting conditions.

Paul Cooper - Simon’s Dad

Paul has lived in and around north London all of his life and has spent his working career in the print, signs and graphic industry.

Over many years Paul has been involved in fundraising activities including writing and presenting quizzes, helping to arrange and produce a vast array of fund raisers, serving behind the bar at Chicken Shed Theatre and shaking collecting boxes for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as well as running a marathon and some 10Ks.

Paul is proud to have founded the Simon Cooper Foundation along with his wife and daughter. It is a fitting legacy for a young man who spent so much time fundraising for many good causes.

Becky Woolfe - Simon’s sister

Whilst working as a primary school teacher, Becky led her first fundraising event, which was planned with Simon during his Cancer battle, in 2016. The event which raised over £20,000 sparked a passion for fundraising and along with her parents, she founded the Simon Cooper Foundation. Having decided to leave the teaching profession after 12 years in 2019, she now works full time within the charity sector.
