Are you looking for a fitness challenge for 2023? Have you been meaning to dust off your running shoes?

We are inviting you to join us in our efforts to raise £10,000 by taking part in a running challenge in 2023. If you’d like to take part and raise money while you run, please get in touch and we can register you for your chosen event.

The Simon Cooper Foundation will pay for registration fees and even provide a t-shirt and all you have to do is pledge to raise a minimum of £250 via sponsorship.

Take a look at the events you could choose from:

The Lee Valley White Water Centre is a stunning venue in Hertfordshire and is surrounded by a picturesque regional park.

The event will host a 10K and for anyone wanting to challenge themselves more, there is also the option of a half marathon. Both events start and finish at the White Water Centre before heading out to the beautiful regional park that surrounds the centre.

The single lap course starts and finishes in Highfield Park in St Albans and runs out along the flat and tree lined disused railway line called the Alban Way and towards Hatfield before making a loop via Sleapshyde and returning to along the Alban Way. The whole route is on tarmac and a lot of the course is traffic free.

Hatfield Broad Oak 10k Road Race and 1 Mile Family Fun Run

Now in its 36th year, the HBO 10K attracts 1500 runners nationwide. Held in the medieval village of Hatfield Broad Oak near Bishop’s Stortford, it is a fully marshalled course which is on road throughout.

If you fancy taking part in the 1 mile family fun run, it is held after the main 10k race event for participation by children. The run is a 1 mile loop around the village. Children above the age of 8 are allowed to run on their own but younger children are welcomed to join in with parents or carers. Runners with buggies and dogs are also welcome to join so this one is great for the whole family!
